After an impressive display in Abuja on Wednesday, scoring
two goals in the Super Eagles’ 3-1 win over Sudan, Ahmed Musa was again at his
best scoring two goals in CSKA Moscow’s 6-0 win over Kuban Krasnodar in a
Russian Premier League game on Saturday.
Musa scored a goal each in the two halves of Saturday’s game
played at the Arena Khimki.
The dashing Nigerian forward put his team in the lead as early as the 13th minute off an assist from Roman Eremenko.
The dashing Nigerian forward put his team in the lead as early as the 13th minute off an assist from Roman Eremenko.
Eremenko then doubled CSKA’s lead just four minutes later,
with Georgi Milanov helping him out with the assist.
Musa and his teammates were unable to add to their tally as
it remained 2-0 at half time, and the visitors kept the score line that way
till the 69th minute before CSKA reloaded for more goals.
First it was Igor Armaş that scored an own-goal, and then
just a minute later Musa completed his brace; scoring his second goal of the
game.
With five minutes left in regulation time and victory
already sealed, Ivorian striker, Seydou Doumbia, got himself on the scorers’
sheet after Musa provided him a pass and his strike made it 5-0 in favour of
the home team.
Just like Musa, Doumbia also completed his brace in the 90th
minute as CSKA smiled away with the huge win that has lifted them to within one
point of leaders Zenit, although CSKA have played one more game.
