The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has been receiving commendations from different quarters of the world for its successful conduct of the presidential election in Nigeria and the latest to join the train is the TAMPPAN president, Dele Odule.
The veteran actor has called on winner of the election, General
Muhammadu Buhari, to help kill corruption fast before it kills Nigeria.
Dele Odule stressed that since Nigerians have decided to embrace
change, the President-elect should Endeavour to fulfill the promises he made to
the electorates.
“Firstly, let me congratulate every Nigerian on witnessing and
participating in a free and fair election in the history of Nigeria amidst the
high volume of tension in the country in the past few months. Surely, we’ve
come to tell our politicians that our thumbs carry our votes; our votes remain
our power to vote in, or vote out leaders that fail. Nigerians have taken the
lead in the rejection of corruption.
"My message to you sir is to do as you’ve promised, kill
corruption before corruption kills Nigeria. A bold step has been taken towards
a new Nigeria and you sir cannot be unaware of what is expected of you.
"Sir, you owe it to every Nigerian both home and abroad the
restoration of our pride, dignity and to bring back to us our sobriquet, GIANT
OF AFRICA.
"I pray that Allah guides and guards you as you take the
step towards great goals.
Nigerians believe in you," the actor said in a statement on behalf of his association.
