President
Goodluck Jonathan will now formally declare his intention to seek re-election
during the 2015 general elections on November 11.
Dr.
Haliru Bello who is the chairman of the Presidential Declaration Committee led
other members to the Aso Villa on Friday to deliberate on the most appropriate
date for President Jonathan’s declaration.
Bello
told State House correspondents at the end of the meeting on Friday that the
committee members had settled for November 11.
On Thursday (yesterday) the President had
informed the leadership of the PDP of his intention to contest the 2015 General
Elections and swiftly set up a committee – a trademark of his administration-
to come up with modalities for his declaration. He had asked the committee to
choose a date between November 7 and 15 for him to make his formal declaration.
