The nomination
list released on Tuesday, September 30,
2014 for the prestigious award ‘The Headies’ has
led popular media personality, Ebuka Obi Uchendu into
expressing his dissatisfaction.
The TV presenter
wonders why indigenous rapper Phyno
and pop singer Waje were overlooked
from some categories he feels they merited.
With the ‘Rubbin’
Minds’ host not convinced, he took to his twitter page to
question why Phyno is not in the category for the best ‘Lyricist
On The Roll’ which has ‘Shots On Shots ‘by
Ice Prince, ‘Rap
It Up‘ by Posly TD,
‘God On The Mic ‘ by Jesse Jagz and ‘Kpansh’
by Yung 6ix.
Ebuka also
questioned the omission of singer Waje from the list for ‘Best
Vocal Performance’ (FEMALE) category which has ‘Love
to Love You’ by Niyola
Ft Banky W, ‘Wanted’
by Tiwa Savage, ‘Window’
– Monica Ogah and ‘Good
Man’ by Ruby.
Meanwhile,
according to the Jury head DJ Jimmy
Jatt he says: ‘Lyricist On The
Roll means, A non- voting category for the Rap Artiste with the best lyrical
and performance on a single song or album while Best Vocal Performance means A
non-voting category for the single female artiste with most outstanding vocal
performances on a single song or album.
