Prince Harry Gets His
Inheritance As He Turns 30, Check Out What His Late Mom, Princess Diana Willed
To Him.
When Princess Diana died at
36 in a ghastly motor accident, not many would have expected that she would
have written a Will which left an inheritance to each of her sons.
It seems Princess Diana
thought of everything when it came to both her sons turning 30 but one
particular heirloom might seem unusual:
her wedding dress.
This was according to Diana’s
Will which read that on Harry’s 30th birthday, both
William and Harry would gain ownership of the iconic gown. Harry is to turn 30
on September 15.
The gown has a staggering 25
foot train, the longest train in history.
Lady Diana Spencer wore the
exquisite ivory silk and taffeta lace dress designed by David and Elizabeth
Emanuel to her wedding to Prince Charles in 1981.
The Victorian-style dress was
hand-embroidered with over 10 000 mother of pearl sequins and has the longest
train in history, according to the National Constitution Centre.
The BBC reports that the
royal wedding was the most watched event in the world at the time and an
estimated 750 million people tuned in around the world to watch.
Decades later and the royal
gown is still known as the dress and has toured the world in many
galleries. It was also regularly displayed in Northampton
at Althorp, her family’s estate whilst in
Diana’s brother, Charles’ possession.
It is suggested
by that it will return to Kensington Palace once in her sons’
possession.
Prince William and Prince
Harry also stand to inherit other items in the will of their late mother
including personal photos, letters and jewels.
The score and lyrics of Elton
John’s adapted version of Candle in the
Wind which was performed at her funeral will also be handed down.
While the exact amount of
Harry’s inheritance is yet to be determined it is believed
it will be fairly larger than older brother William’s
inheritance which he received in 2008, due to the interest accumulated.
