Information reaching KIB has
it that the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II over the weekend paid two
separate courtesy calls on the leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC),
Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Babatunde Akiolu I.
Insiders associated with both
the APC leader and the Oba said the visit was one the Emir used to appreciate
the duo for the role they played in his emergence as the revered Kano monarch.
It was learnt that Emir
Sanusi visited Oba Akiolu on Saturday and paid another visit to Tinubu at his
Ikoyi residence on Sunday.
According to one of the
sources, “It is indeed true that the Emir of Kano was at the Ikoyi
home of Asiwaju Tinubu to see him today.” He was however quick
to add that the meeting was held behind closed doors.
Emir Sanusi was escorted to
the Ikoyi residence of Tinubu by Oba Akiolu on Sunday afternoon.
“The one thing I am sure of is that it was a thank you
visit to Asiwaju for the role he played in Sanusi’s
emergence as the Emir,” the source added.
Emir Sanusi had earlier gone
to meet with the Oba of Lagos at his Iga Iduganran Palace on Saturday alongside
a retinue of his palace staff.
