The Super Eagles are now
ranked 37th in the world, dropping four places from their position last month.
Nigeria were beaten 3-2 by
Congo in Calabar, before playing out a dull goalless draw against South Africa
in Cape Town.
The African champions are now
the sixth-placed side in the continent, behind Algeria, Cote d’Ivoire,
Tunisia, Ghana and Senegal.
Overall, Germany remains the
highest-ranked team in the world, ahead of Argentina and Holland. Former world
champions Spain slumped to 8th place, while France are 9th.
