Late Joan Rivers died at the
age of 81
A few weeks after the burial
of late US comedienne, Joan Rivers, reports reveal there may have been some
discrepancies in the incidents that led to her death.
CNN reports that late Rivers
went into a cardiac arrest on Thursday, August 28, 2014 while her personal
doctor was performing a biopsy on her vocal chords without her consent and
added that the doctor also took a selfie with an unconscious Rivers while in
the procedure room.
Investigators believe that
her vocal chords began to swell during the biopsy which cut off the flow of
oxygen to her lungs and eventually led to a cardiac arrest.
It is yet unknown whether
legal actions will be taken against the doctor but CNN reports that the doctor,
Cohen has resigned from his position as the hospital’s
medical director.
Rivers, 81, had gone to
Yorkville Endoscopy for a procedure intended to help diagnose her hoarse voice
and sore throat but after the complications, was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital
where she died a week after.
