Diddy has added another title
to his name – Doctor!
Puff Daddy was awarded an
honorary doctorate degree from Howard University in Washington earlier this year.
The rapper's, real name Sean
Combs, told the crowd: ‘Ain’t no homecoming like
a Howard homecoming’. He studied business at the university for two years
before dropping out in 1990 to further his career in music.
According to Billboard, he
went on to tell the crowd: ‘Howard University
didn’t just change my life –
it entered my soul, my heart, my being and my spirit.’
The Bad Boy Records founder,
who has changed his nickname back from P Diddy, received his honorary degree in
humanities and was recognised alongside CNN news anchor Wolf Blitzer, surgeon
Clive Callender, jazz saxophonist Benny Golson and PepsiCo CEO Indra Nooyi at
the ceremony.
The 44-year-old star was
asked to give a commencement speech for other students and also posted a number
of excited tweets and snaps on Instagram.
Along with a photograph of
him and his mother, he wrote: ‘Pulling up to one of
the most important moments of My Life with the LoVe of My Life #MamaCombs
#DiddySpeechHU. (sic)’
The rapper received a
standing ovation after his speech and classmates chanted ‘Diddy’
after which he tweeted: ‘I am Humbled & Honored!!! (sic)’

Still a Bad Boy! Diddy
dropped out of Howard after two years but has gone on to become one of the most
prominent black men in history
